How to participate

Present your company briefly:
A simple exercise for a possibly decisive step in its development

If you want to participate, nothing is simpler. You will be asked to present your project with the help of a few questions.
For all data — private, commercial or financial— supplied by the candidates, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is applied for purposes outside of EUROWARDS functioning. EUROWARDS and its partners commit to this NDA.

3 selection criteria
Your company will be evaluated according to 4 criteria:
- feasibility/viability
- originality/ability to compete
- European potential

How are applicants selected? What added value does nomination bring?

Applicants have to answer a number of basic questions at the EUROWARDS website.
Based on these details, the Selection Committee picks out 24 applicants every quarter in each category. These ‘pre-selected‘ are then invited to attend the Assessment Session as part of a broader event called ‘Clever Networking’ (www.clever-networking.com).
Over the course of a day of evaluation, consultation with the assessors and selection between peers, the Assessment Session makes it possible to:
- uncover directly the strengths and weaknesses of the promoters and their business/project;
- understand how external investors view their presentation
- develop business relationships with other entrepreneurs of the same calibre, as well as with consultants specialising in business guidance
- rehearse and improve their techniques at presenting their business/project in front of a room full of people
When the Assessment Session has been completed, the winners are announced and the media informed.

What is the added value for applicants who are not selected?

Applicants who do not continue forward in the EUROWARDS process are invited to take part in ‘Clever Networking’, which is held on the fringes of the Assessment Sessions, where they are able to develop their business network in theme-based micro-discussions.
Every month, EUROWARDS e-mails a summary of the best submissions to its database of 1,000 investors. Any investors interested can contact EUROWARDS,which acts as an intermediary in handling any follow-up.
All EUROWARDS applicants receive an individual outline evaluation of their project and can order a full-scale assessment or additional coaching.

What proportion of the costs are borne by applicants?

To be able to take part in the EUROWARDS process, each entrepreneur is asked to contribute an annual membership fee of 75 EUR (10 EUR for entrepreneurs from a Partner Region which has paid its annual subscription).
Participation in the Coaching Session is free of charge.
There is a fee charged for taking part in Clever Networking. Those entrepreneurs who are members of the association enjoy a reduction, and an additional discount is granted to entrepreneurs from a Partner Region.
In all cases, entrepreneurs are required to pay for their travel, accommodation and food expenses, except where special arrangements have been made.
